We are delighted to announce the overwhelming success of the Nottingham Cultural Festival 2025, which drew an impressive crowd of over 14,000 visitors throughout the day at the Forest Recreation Ground. This family-friendly event, held on Sunday, 27th July, brought together people of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate community, culture, and unity in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
From 12 PM to 7 PM, the festival grounds were alive with an exciting mix of activities and performances, creating unforgettable memories for families and friends. The day’s highlights included:
Live Nasheed and Musical Performances by renowned artists, including Abdullah Haqqani, Prince Naseeb Abbas, Hassan Raza, Faz Shah and Khaleel Muhammed. They all captivated the audience with their soulful voices and uplifting messages.
There was also a wide range of family activities, including rides, bouncy castles, and face painting for children, ensuring a fun-packed day for the youngest attendees.
Food and drinks stalls featuring diverse cuisines ranging from Indo-Pak fusion, African and Caribbean, as well as clothes stalls, which gave festivalgoers the chance to enjoy shopping and taste delicious treats. A free iPad giveaway added an element of excitement and surprise to the event.
Several distinguished local figures attended the event, including former IBO World Boxing Champion Jawaid Khaliq, representatives from the Nottinghamshire Police, City Council members, and several local councillors, reflecting the strong community and civic support for the festival.
Furthermore, the festival featured a diverse range of informational stalls, offering essential resources and guidance for the community. Notable participants included the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, Nottinghamshire Police, and several other respected community organisations, all working together to support and engage with local residents.
The festival not only celebrated the cultural diversity of Nottingham’s Muslim community but also fostered a strong sense of community spirit, aligning with Karimia Institute’s mission to promote moral and spiritual values through trust building and interfaith dialogue. The event was designed to bring together the Nottingham Muslim community, celebrate our shared diversity, and showcase our rich cultural heritage to the wider public. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to making the festival a resounding success.
“The turnout and enthusiasm we witnessed at this year’s Nottingham Cultural Festival have been truly inspiring,” said Ahmed Belim, event organiser. “Seeing families and individuals from across Nottingham and beyond coming together in such large numbers to celebrate was a testament to the strength of our community. We are immensely grateful to all who attended and contributed to the success of this event.”
