Reaching out to the other

I was interviewed on BBC Radio Nottingham yesterday about a poll that said that a quarter of British people don’t trust Muslims. I discussed why this might be and what we can do about it. You can listen to the interview at www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01gkk0d (13:44-19:15).
Basically Muslims need to understand British people better and British people need to approach Muslims with an open mind and for neither side to intimidate the other.
“There is no place for anti-Muslim hatred or any kind of hatred in Britain” (www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/24204742) and labelling a whole group of people from the actions of a very small minority is totally unfair. We must not let ourselves be divided and we will move forward as a community if we stay united.
