The Nottingham Cultural Festival, held on July 28th at Forest Recreation Ground, was a tremendous success, showcasing the rich diversity and unity of Nottingham. The event, attended by over 12,000 people, was blessed with beautiful weather, which added to the vibrant atmosphere.
The festival featured a variety of activities that captivated attendees of all ages. There were thrilling rides, beautiful henna art, colourful clothing stalls, live nasheed performances from a range of local talent, face painting, and an array of food and drink options as well as a variety of popular funfair rides. The event truly had something for everyone, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.
Distinguished Guests and Performances
We were honoured to have several local dignitaries join us for the festival. The esteemed guests included Alex Norris MP, Nadia Whittome MP, the Sheriff of Nottingham Liaqat Ali, and local councillors including Angela Kandola, Sajid Mohammed, and Neghat Khan. Their presence underscored the importance of the festival in bringing the community together.
The festival also featured entertaining live performances that delighted the audience. Veteran Nasheed artist Abdullah Haqani, the popular ‘Nana G’ Puppet Show, and the upcoming Nasheed artist Firas Vocals delivered outstanding performances that kept the crowd engaged and entertained throughout the day.
Promotional stalls at the festival included Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue, NHS, and NHS Chaplaincy, among many other local community organisations. We are deeply grateful for their support and participation.
