Lockdown 2 Update

In England, the Prime Minister has announced a second national lockdown from Thursday 5th November. This includes places of worship being closed, except for a limited number of activities. Permitted activities currently listed on UK Government website include:
- Funerals
- To broadcast acts of worship
- Individual prayer
- Formal childcare or where part of a school
- Essential voluntary and public services, such as blood donation or food banks
- Other exempted activities such as some support groups
We will be releasing further information on how this will impact us and we will seek further clarification from statutory bodies. In the meantime, we can confirm the following:
- There will be NO Jummah prayer this week and onwards until further notice
- The 5 daily prayers in Jamat (congregation) will continue up until Isha on Wednesday 4th November
- From Thursday 5th November onwards – NO Jamat until further notice
- The Masjid will remain open for individual prayers ONLY (please wear a mask & follow social distancing guidelines)
- All classes will be suspended. We are planning on providing online classes for our students. Please get in touch with your local Imam for more details.
