Karimia Institute is delighted to congratulate Dr Musharraf Hussain OBE on being one of only three recipients of this year’s prestigious Nottingham Award, presented at a special dinner and awards ceremony held at the iconic Nottingham Castle.

Now in its 13th year, the Nottingham Awards recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to Nottingham and its communities. The award celebrates those whose dedication, leadership and service have helped make a positive and lasting difference to the city.

This year’s recognition is particularly significant as Dr Musharraf becomes the first Muslim recipient of the Nottingham Award, marking an important milestone for Nottingham’s diverse communities.

For decades, Dr Musharraf has dedicated himself to serving people in Nottingham and beyond. Through his leadership of Karimia Institute and his wider educational, charitable and community work, he has championed education, community cohesion, interfaith understanding, youth development and opportunities for people from all backgrounds.

His work has always been rooted in a simple but powerful belief: that faith should inspire people to serve others and contribute positively to the society in which they live. Over the years, this commitment has helped establish and develop a wide range of educational, religious and community initiatives across Nottingham.

Receiving the Nottingham Award at Nottingham Castle is therefore not only a wonderful personal achievement for Dr Musharraf, but also a proud moment for everyone associated with Karimia Institute and the many communities and organisations he has worked alongside over the years.
