At Karimia Institute, we believe in supporting our community in practical and meaningful ways. Through our partnership with FareShare, our Community Pantry Service helps local individuals and families access good-quality food at an affordable price.
For just £5, visitors can receive a bag full of good-quality food, helping them put together a substantial shop while keeping household costs down. The selection varies each week and can include a range of everyday essentials and fresh food.
Importantly, this is good, usable food – not simply out-of-date food being given away. Much of the food supplied through FareShare is surplus stock that is perfectly good to eat but, for various reasons, may otherwise go to waste. Our pantry gives this food a purpose while helping local households save money.
The service is about more than affordable food. It helps reduce unnecessary food waste, ease pressure on household budgets and support people within our local community.
When: Every Thursday, 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Where: Bobbersmill Community Centre, NG7 5JU
Cost: Just £5 for a bag full of food
Come along, pick up a great-value food shop and help us make sure perfectly good food is put to good use.
