Alhamdulillah! We are thrilled to announce that Karimia Institute has been recognised with the prestigious ‘Mosque of the Year’ award at the British Muslim Health Awards 2025, presented by the British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA). This remarkable achievement celebrates the spirit, service, and impact of our mosques as centres of community wellbeing, health promotion, and outreach in Nottingham and beyond.
🌟 What This Award Means
The BIMA Health Awards are the UK’s first national awards dedicated to honouring the extraordinary contributions of Muslim professionals, organisations, and community partners within health, care, and wellbeing. The Mosque of the Year category recognises mosques that go above and beyond in promoting health, supporting vulnerable community members, and creating inclusive spaces for wellbeing and education. To be selected for this accolade is a testament to the tireless efforts of our team, volunteers, supporters, and worshippers, who together have made our mosques not just a place of spiritual nourishment but hubs of support, care, and positive change.
🙌 A Beacon of Health and Community Support
Our mosques have long been committed to:
- 🌱 Health promotion and awareness — hosting health workshops, screening events, and wellness talks.
- 💬 Support services — partnering with healthcare professionals to address community health needs.
- 👥 Outreach programmes — creating safe spaces where individuals and families can access reliable health information and compassionate support.
- 🤝 Collaboration with partners — working with health organisations and charities to bring services directly to those who need them most.
This award recognises how our mosques serve as a bridge between faith, wellbeing, and community cohesion, embodying the Islamic values of care, compassion, and service to humanity.
🕌 A Shared Celebration
We dedicate this honour to:
- Our community members and worshippers whose engagement and trust inspire our work.
- Our volunteers and staff, whose dedication powers every initiative.
- Our partners and supporters, whose collaboration helps us reach further and serve better.
Last but not least, this achievement has come through the compassionate leadership of Dr Musharraf Hussain, our CEO and translator of The Majestic Quran. Dr Musharraf has dedicated decades to serving Muslim communities across the UK, building institutions that support education, welfare, faith, and community cohesion. His vision has made Karimia Institute a respected organisation throughout the country, running over twenty community projects that uplift people through learning, spiritual growth, and social action.
Dr Musharraf always emphasises that health and wellbeing are fundamental in Islam. He encourages Masjid Ash-Shifa, Masjid Karimia, and Masjid Ibrahim to remain active in promoting healthy living, fostering positive relationships with healthcare professionals, and engaging with the community. We are truly grateful for his guidance and for the unity and spirit he inspires in us all.
This achievement isn’t just a milestone; it’s a calling to continue growing, serving, and uplifting others with humility and devotion.
📣 Join Us in Gratitude
We extend our deepest gratitude to the British Islamic Medical Association for this recognition, and to everyone who has supported the Karimia community on its journey. May Allah accept our efforts and make this award a source of barakah for all. Ameen!
Stay tuned for more updates on our programmes, health initiatives, and community activities in the year ahead!
